MCL 211.7u provides for a property tax exemption, in whole or part, for the principal residence of persons who, by reason of poverty, are unable to contribute to the public charges. For purposes of the poverty exemption, the term “principal residence” means how principal residence exemption and qualified agricultural property are defined in MCL 211.7dd. The exemption does not apply to property of a corporation.

The Camden Township Board of Trustees meet the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.. Meetings are held at the Camden United Methodist Church, 205 S. Main Street, Camden, MI.
Office hours are by appointment, except for tax payment or election required days. Contact the Board Member who you wish to see.
Township Ordinances
Township ordinances are available for review here, at the Hillsdale County Clerks office or by contacting the Township Clerk to review in person.
The Township maintains a sanitation station on Brott Road north of W. Montgomery Road. The station is open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until Noon.
The maintains two cemeteries, Berg Cemetery on Long Lake Road, north of W. Montgomery Road and Palmer Cemetery on Territorial Road east of M-49. Cemeteries are open from dawn to dusk.

Camden Township is an un-zoned township. Building permits and regulations are available at the Hillsdale County Building Inspector's office. Well and Septic permits are available at the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency office in Hillsdale.
